Multiple businesses use physical terminals to capture payments from their clients, allowing them to conveniently pay with a card on-site.
Payments can be processed directly on the terminal by entering the amount and having the client insert their card. These transactions are automatically reflected in the Strictly platform after completion and are referred to as "standalone" payments.
Also, "semi-integration" payments follow a similar process where the customer inserts their card into the terminal. However, instead of entering the payment details (such as the amount) directly on the terminal, the transaction is initiated from the Strictly platform.
Semi-Integration payments can be initiated in two ways:
- From the Terminals screen – without selecting a specific customer.
- From the Customers screen – allowing you to choose a customer beforehand.
Create a Semi-Integration Payment from the Terminals screen.
1. Navigate to the "Terminals" tab from the side menu.
2. Locate the terminal where you want to process the payment.
3. Click the ellipsis menu (⋮) on the right side of the row and select "Pay on Terminal."
4. A modal will open, allowing you to enter the payment details, such as transaction type, amount and any configured custom fields.
5. Enter the required details and click "Send"
6. Go to the terminal, ensure the client inserts their card, and follow the prompts.
7. Once the payment is completed, the popup will be closed and you will receive a notification with the payment result.
Create a Semi-Integration Payment Using an Existing Customer
1. Navigate to the "Customers" tab from the side menu.
2. Locate the customer who needs to complete the payment.
3. Click the ellipsis menu (⋮) on the right side of the row and select "Pay on Terminal."
4. A modal will open, allowing you to enter the payment details, such as transaction type, amount, any configured custom fields, and the terminal where the payment will be processed.
5. Enter the required details and click "Send Payment."
6. A popup will appear to provide real-time feedback throughout the process. It will indicate when the payment is being processed on the terminal and display the final response—whether the payment was successful or declined.
7. Go to the terminal, ensure the client inserts their card, and follow the prompts.
8. Once the payment is completed, the popup will update with the final result. Close it after the process is finalized.
